Lincoln Flats is open from 4 to 10 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, and from 4 p.m. to 12 a.m. Friday and Saturday. 

The Merrillville gym is open from 12 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

It will be cheap, with hot dogs for $2 and hot dogs with fries and a drink for $4.25. The lunch menu also will include burgers, soups and chili.

This concept — of empowering and celebrating individuality with technology — carries a lot of weight for those critical of how the virtual, augmented and mixed reality technologies are being developed so far. 

The quick-serve restaurant at 6475 U.S. 6, across from the Portage 16 IMAX, also offers elote, cheesy roasted poblano soup, and battered yucca fries with mojo mayonesa. Tacos come topped with jalapeño lime slaw, a Mexican cheese blend and cilantro, with options including braised beef, achiote pork, chicken tinga, fish, vegetables and chorizo and potato.

"If they would have said that, I would have complied," Abkes said. "… The guys’ safety was always my highest interest."

Esperpento uses actors’ bodies to puppeteer digital characters. The project, which includes a fictional dystopian world that is projected on two walls and a floor of a stage, also features a short play called Two Red Lights and One Black. In it, actors control parts of projected digital avatars with some body movements. When one woman gesticulates with her hand, the hand of a beefy prisoner projected on the wall moves in sync.

Rock & Brews, which combines comfort food, a wide selection of craft beers and a "family-friendly rock ‘n’ roll experience," plans to open at the corner of LaGrange Road and 143rd Street in the Orland Park Crossing Lifestyle Center in Orland Park, and at the corner of Cicero Avenue and 111th Street in the Stony Creek Promenade in Oak Lawn.
