National aluminum fabrication firm Gateway Extrusions, headquartered in Union, Mo., has promoted Simone Bradley to maintenance manager for the company’s manufacturing facility.  Bradley and her staff are responsible for all maintenance and repair of production equipment and building systems for the entire 170,000-square-foot Gateway facility, which currently operates 7-inch and 9-inch diameter aluminum presses, a vertical powder coat paint line and a full fabrication shop. She directs all machine and building repairs, establishes periodic maintenance schedules for all equipment to reduce equipment downtime, oversees building maintenance projects as well as tool and materials coordination, and works with all OEM vendors and service providers. In coordination with Gateway’s safety manager, Bradley is working to improve safety and fire prevention programs throughout the plant.

Flaherty hoped that the end result would be an engrossing story that has an actual arc. Making movements central to the story would allow the interactive methodology starts to "disappear," he said.

The painter’s 6,000-hour template describes 1,000 hours of “Spot or patch repairs and mixing paints,” 800 hours of “Adjusting spray gun and spraying intermediate coats” and 600 hours of “Cleaning equipment and metal surfaces to be painted.” (GFS has observed that the real secret to good painting is prep work.)
